OUR STORY

Building a bridge between
traditional knowledge and contemporary opportunity.

"Agude Craft Foundation exists to ensure that India's traditional crafts do not disappear simply because the people who practice them can no longer find a viable livelihood through their skills."

India possesses an extraordinary diversity of traditional crafts and artisan communities. Yet, many of these crafts face an existential crisis. The Foundation was born from the understanding that preserving a craft means preserving the livelihood of the artisan.

The Foundation does not view craft merely as a product to be sold. We see craft as cultural knowledge, community identity, generational heritage, creative expression, and a living practice that can evolve.

We work to bring together artisans, designers, artists, students, institutions, and markets to create a stronger ecosystem in which traditional craftsmanship can be preserved, developed, recognised, and sustained.

Our Vision
"A future where no living craft is lost because its maker could not find a future in it."
Our Mission

Agude Craft Foundation works with artisan communities across India to discover, document, and preserve traditional crafts while creating new opportunities through design collaboration, workshops, product development, market access, and partnerships with designers, institutions, businesses, and government bodies.

Our aim is to create a more connected and equitable craft ecosystem where traditional knowledge can evolve, artisans can receive greater recognition and value for their work, and craft communities can build sustainable livelihoods.

Join us in shaping the future of Indian craft.
